Welcome to The Poker Monkey's Texas Hold'em Poker Guide (sorry for the long name, there). Here you will find strategies, tips, tricks, tactics and other useful stuff that will help you earn money on poker.

To find a winning table

If you want to earn money on your poker (that's why you play, right?), it's extremely important that your opponents make mistakes - and for you to minimize yours.
Maybe they play to many hands, call when they should fold, fold when thay should call, or bluff to much....there are many ways to throw money in the poker toilet.
But because of this, poker is one of a few games where you can win money on a regular basis. The players' decisions dictate the game and if they will win or lose. You have to make that fact your advantage.

What do you expect of your poker?

There are many kinds of players out there. if you can recognize them, you have a great advantage over them. Here are a couple of the "best" opponents you can face playing poker.
Action seekers always try to find that adrenaline pumping exitement in the game. They always call the flop and will try every chance they have to go all-in. If you see that kind of player, make sure to use it to your advantaget. But be careful! One of these hands he might have a good one.
Calling stations are your ideal opponents at any table. They call with every hand, even if it's bad, just because they don't know any better (most of them are playing at low stakes tables). Maybe they hope for a long lost pair, or perhaps a three of a kind? They always go for the flop, that is for sure. Be sure to use that fact to your advantage. Only play really good hands though, that is the key. You can't trust calling stations!

If you recognize yourself as one of these kind of players - change your tactics immediatly!!

One of the most important rules in Texas Hold'em is to never stay at a table where you lose pot after pot after pot... Change table (or leave/go home) rather than waiting for that perfect hand. It's all about which other players suit your playing strategy.
